Do you think that animated movies are just cute cartoons meant to entertain children? Well, then you couldn’t be further away from the truth! They are not only supremely entertaining but also provide valuable life lessons, something that ‘normal movies’ seldom do. To prove my point, I will talk about 5 animated movies that taught us something incredible and extraordinary-
This Disney movie taught us that fear only aggravates our problems. The only way to defeat the demons of our mind and our insecurities is through love because only love can thaw a heart that is frozen with fear and doubt.
Olaf taught us that no dream is impossible. In spite of being a snowman he held on to his dream of enjoying a beautiful summer and guess what…. his dream came true, because he never stopped believing.
Tangled teaches us that if we follow our heart, we’ll never go wrong.
It was Rapunzel’s dream to see the flying lanterns and despite several challenges she still manages to fulfil her dream only because she follows her instincts. If she hadn’t been brave enough, she would never have found her true love or realized that she was the lost princess. Be brave enough to live your dreams and if you follow your heart, happiness will always follow you!
3. Inside Out:
This Disney movie was a beautiful take on human emotions. As humans our ultimate goal is to be happy and therefore all our actions are centered towards increasing our happiness. As a result we all despise being sad, but we fail to realize that it is this emotion of being sad that urges us to take charge of our life and restore our happiness. Every emotion has a place in our life and it is only by being sad that we truly appreciate the beauty of being happy.
4. Kung Fu Panda 2:
Kung Fu Panda 2 was not only rib tickling but also an entertaining film with a strong message. The only way to attain inner peace is to accept the fact that you cannot change the past. You can never be truly happy if you keep reliving the pain and hurt. You have to make peace with your past to move forward. The only way to set yourself free is by forgetting the bad and embracing the good moments in life. The best advice was given by the soothsayer –“Your story may not have a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.”
5. Finding Dory:
One of the biggest lessons that we can take away from this movie is to never ever give up…..even if all odds are against you. It’s just like how Dory said-“When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming.” Dory managed to find her parents despite her short term memory loss because she never stopped trying. This only goes on to show that you can achieve anything you want… if you put your mind to it!
So the next time you dismiss an animated movie as childish, think again, you could actually be missing out on something very inspiring!
